This has been adapted from a question posed to me by one of my better team-members:

Question:

The 1up and 2up Get Paid Today business model is not a repeat business in that usually the product is sold only once to each purchaser.  I keep thinking that we’re going to run out of people then the cash flow will stop.  What are your thoughts on that?

My Response:

Your concern is understandable.

You have to think in a different paradigm here.  With traditional mlm there are repeat product sales to the same person – at least in theory – until they give up and leave – realizing that they can’t recruit and that their garages are filling up with fruit juice- or exercise nutritional gel, or weight-loss biltong or even washing powder. Of course this traditional mlm model espouses that enough sales will be made to retail customers who have no interest in embarking on the money-making side of things. 

This, of course, is hypocritical nonsense. If you shop for your washing powder or even sox at your local mlm supplier instead of going to your local Wal-Mart do you really believe that you will escape solicitations, repeated solicitations, to “join the business”?   Hardly!  That is why these products do not get sold – not because of the products themselves but because the purchasers are sick and tired of being approached to join the mlm associated with them.

With the 1up and 2up Get Paid Today business model your “repeat” business are more and more people purchasing products that are usually non-physical e.g., Wealth Creation/Management/Real Estate/Tax advice conferences/seminars and downloadable softwares/e-books/how-to videos.

Apart from motivation seminars these products are usually consumed once by each purchaser and so the “repeat” aspect kicks in when others buy the same service/product.

For some reason, the self-appointed guardians of what constitutes a valid business model online will contend that the traditional mlm model is kosher and the 1up/2up model is doubtful.  Their main reasoning is that there are a limited number of people who will take up a 1up/2up business and that therefore the ones who get in early will gain at the expense of those who come in last.

This argument is nonsense of course.

In theory, in a geometric progression inherent in the 1up/2up model where two will get two and each of these will get two and so on, we will soon run out of people.   

The real world does not work like this.

Please see two entries in my training site http://www.ezwealthtraining.com entries # 65 and 41.  Essentially what we are saying here is that people give up and leave well before saturation can take hold.

As in any business, online or offline, people come and go.   People succeed, but more people don’t make the grade.  That’s life.

In the 1up/2up business model, the fact that people give up works in our favor.  USE the fact that only a small number make the grade.  (Only a small percentage make the grade in ANY business, online or offline.)

Provided the products provide value-propositions to those who need/want them then the 1up/2up Get Paid Today business model will ALWAYS have prospects – they will never run out.  (It is beyond the scope of this post to explain what a “value-proposition” implies – so take this term at its face-value at this stage.)

Even Amway still persists in some form or other and it was started out of a garage just after WW2.  People come and go.  Do you think that it survives because of the quality of its washing powder?  Hardly, it survives because there are always new people taking on the mlm aspect – replacing those who give-up, retire, die PLUS those who enter the network marketing business world for the first time (or second or third time).

The home business/online home business arena is growing exponentially in this post Enron, post Crash world.

The school of thought that there are a finite number of prospects for a 1up/2up Get Paid Today business just does not apply.  

More and more people are becoming prospects – more than can be handled – as they come onto the net or as they flounce from one bizop to the next – looking for the magic bullet – which does not exist.

Perseverance and hard effective work are the magic bullets here – and not many really appreciate this – then when they mature and realize this then they become real prospects for the 1up/2up business model.  

That is why you see my “tell it like it is” themes throughout my training site. Only 10% really listen – the remaining 90% will eventually learn these truths the hard way – then they are true prospects – if they have not already given up.

Let’s take another analogy. You may say that a million dollar coal handling truck has a limited market – not so, they are always finding more coal deposits – so there will always be a market for these machines. The nay-sayers will say that the climate change debate, and the fact that as the Earth is finite and that coal itself is non-renewable then the coal-mining industry – and hence the associated heavy machinery market – will cease.  That is nonsense of course. Using the same spurious arguments, they may also contend that oil producers will cease to exist – again, nonsense.

With the 1up and 2up Get Paid Today business there will always be greater growth in the market than the capacity to fill it.
There is always an expanding market.

The secret in succeeding in a 1up and 2up Get Paid Today business is to keep seeking the RIGHT prospect – people who really understand and accept all this. These people are the ones who have product belief and hence will persevere when the doubters give up. There is a never-ending supply of these people – you will NEVER run out  – its just a matter of finding then attracting them.

You will always therefore have repeat business with the 1up/2up Get Paid Today business model.
